I take the reader on a journey of the health and climate issues humans face—including food shortages and pandemics—leading to the necessity of bionic modifications.  It’s a world we are creating today.  Read to learn if the human race survived the Evolution of the Cyborg.

“Humans were biologically inefficient beings compared to most known organisms of Earth.  Specifically, they were exceptionally slow to evolve as a swiftly changing environment overtook them.  Their organs, especially the brain, required a significant amount of nutrients for proper functionality.  With a limited food supply caused by ozone depletion, pollutants, and climate change...” 

“Emiko, this database is irrelevant.  Your reasoning?” Since all “brains” are connected in this office, lying is extremely difficult for a cyborg.   So, Emiko explains as diplomatically as possible for one whose specific task is not examining human extinction.   “Director 12, you are correct.  I just thought.”  “Thought?  Independent thinking is irrelevant.  This entire floor is devoted to one task and only that task.”

Sapphire and The Atlantians: War in Atlantis Chapter 17 What follows is an exceptionally dark excerpt from book two in the Sapphire and The Atlantians Series of Novels: War in Atlantis. This scene is extremely dark, so please stop reading if it is too violent for you.  The darkness is necessary to foreshadow a few elements at the end of this book and the beginning of the next.  Backstory First, a little backstory.  Atlantians have gifts: empathy (more than simple telepathy), telekinesis, seeing (future and past), and healing.  Sapphire is surprisingly gifted (you'll have to read the books to learn more about her gifts).  Arion, an extremely gifted empath, can alter thoughts and memories.  Moreover, he can alter a person's reality.  In a nutshell, he is evil—deliciously evil.
